The first race of the 2010 Israel Cup took place in Maalot Lake, on March 5th. In the first race of this UCI C2 Cross Country event, the Austrian Hannes Metzler (Muskelkater-Genesis) triumphed. On the other hand, Rotem Ishai was second, while the Israeli rider Haimi Shlomi finished in third place.
After the first race of the Israel Cup, one day later on March 6th the second race was held, taking place in Misgav. Regarding the results, Haimi Shlomi won the gold medal, while Hannes Metzler won the second place.
Two more races are about to be held thus no one can tell for certain who will be the golden winner. Another Austrian Uwe Hochenwarter, teammate of Metzler, finished fourth. The Dutchman Bart Van Kempema was 11th.

The third and the fourth race are going to be held in Haifa.
Because all four races are “C2” graded, the most successful riders will all receive UCI points.
