Regarding the women’s competition, Colnago Arreghini Sudtirol team dominated the field, setting a fast pace from the very beginning and escaping the other rivals. Eva Lechner(Ita) finished in first securing her second victory, while her Swiss teammate rider Nathalie Schneitter won the second place finishing in 1.24.10. The French Cecile Ravanel (Lapierre) came in third.
This was truly a successful edition of the Maremma Cup as it attracted many professional riders. Having the support of the Chamber of Commerce and the Province of Grosseto, plans are being made to make this event part of the next World Cup, or maybe even more.
