Jean-Christophe Peraud

Once again the international mountain bike scene is losing another great talent to road cycling. The 32-year-old French Jean-Christophe Peraud who was racing for the Massi mountain bike team during the previous season, will be racing for the road cycling team Omega Pharma-Lotto from 2010.

The French cyclist was even on a World Cup podium last year after the race in Houffalize (Belgium) and he was always in the top-10 at international cross country events. In the last World Cup overall rankings he even claimed the 9th position...

In the French, but also international mountain bike scene, Peraud always had to fight the even bigger talent Julien Absalon and therefore he claimed lots of podium rankings, but few titles...

And it must be said: on the road the title claiming goes easier for Peraud... Last season he claimed the French national champion title in time trial and impressed with a 12th position during the World Championship event of that discipline. From 2010 on, Jean-Christophe Peraud will be racing two years for Omega Pharma-Lotto.

One year after the departure of the young Dane Jakob Fuglsang, the mountain bike scene has to say goodbye to another international top-10 racer. Although these former mountain bikers perform well on the road as well: it's comforting, but that will never fill up the gap those racers leave behind...
