Julien Absalon extends contract with Orbea

Julien Absalon

French Orbea-racer and multiple French, World and Olympic champion Julien Absalon has extended his contract with the Spanish bicycle manufacturer Orbea for another three years which is until the Olympic Games of London in 2012.

"I love it at Orbea... They offer me the best bikes, a great team and stability.", says Absalon, "I want to stay here until I retire." Also Orbea's team manager Ixio Barandiarán is excited: "Julien is part of the family now... Not only he wins races, he's also involved in bike development and an icon for us."

Absalon joined Orbea in 2006 and ever since his name and Orbea are firmly attached to one another. With his two Olympic titles (2004 in Athens and 2008 in Beijing), 4x World Cup winner (2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009), 3x World Champion (2005, 2006 and 2007) and 7x French champion: Julien Absalon is the world's greatest cross country mountain bike racer so far...
