While the cross country mountainbike season is till coming to an end, various organizers are already preparing for next year's event. Amongst them, also Bikin’ Cyprus: the event agency responsable for the Cyprus Sunshine Cup. Recently it announced the innovating changes for the 2010 Cyprus Sunshine Cup edition.
The traditional European season's opening event will be more compact in 2010 so the cup competition is completed in two weeks from February 21st until March 7th 2010.
The island and its event is well-known by the bigger names of the international cross country scene as ideal location for preparing the upcoming season while the total prize money of € 29.000 makes it only more attractive.

The known concept of the Cyprus Sunshine Cup remains unchanged. Besides two seperate races, the Afxentia stage competition is still a big highlight in the 2010 programm and will dominate the event from February 26th until February 28th 2010.
The two races of the Cyprus Sunshine Cup and Afxentia are all acknowledged by the UCI as category 1 races making it an early opportunity to collect many UCI points early in the season. Also mountainbike racers racing in the juniors category are welcome however the race on Sunday in the Afxentia is the only junior race in that stage competition. Besides the event for licenced racers, also active non-licenced mountainbikers will be able to ride on the Cypriotic island.
Two weeks after the Cyprus Sunshine Cup, the island can kick off a next sportive event: the Aphrodite Trophy. A two-day-lasting event where there is a marathon race from Tochni towards Kalavasos.
But besides mountain biking, also runners will be able to participate a competition on Cypriotic soil. One day before the marathon mountainbike race, runners can choose for running a course of 2, 5 or 10 kilometres through the mountains of Tochni where an off-road course is guaranteed.
