Filip Meirhaeghe, 38-year-old Belgian mountainbiker with 10 World Cup victories on his record, will be racing his final World Cup race in Houffalize.
Looking back on his career, the silver medal during the Olympic Games in Sydney are a highlight but also a disappointment whilst French racer Miguel Martinez took the gold.
In 2004, at the Canadian venue in Bromont, Meirhaeghe tested positively on the use of EPO and was suspended for 15 months. About this era, he says: "When you do something stupid, you have to face the consequences."

During a come-back with ups and downs, he got his best result in a World Cup race in Spa (Belgium) where he finished fourth.
During this final race, Filip promises to be there for his fans and will treat them with wheelies during the race, to welcome them afterwards for a party with local beer La Chouffe.
