Südtirol Dolomiti Superbike

Last year the Südtirol Dolomiti Superbike didn't cause that much commotion dueo to the World Championships marathon also being organized during the event, but for its 15th anniversary organizers can focus 100% on the Südtirol Dolomiti Superbike again.

During the toughest marathon race of the mountain range Dolomites, mountainbikers can choose between the 60,5 km or 115,5 km race. To highlight their 15th edition, organizers introduced a new zone in the 105,5 km course.

"Racers of the 105,5 km will be treated to an additional 400 metres altitude gain in only 2 km distance.", explains resonsible of the organization Kurt Ploner.

To ensure the toughness of this new section, organizers asked some professional mountainbikers to try out this newest addition. World champion marathon Roel Paulissen, French marathon champion Thomas Dietsch, Italian champion marathon Mike Felderer and two local pros: Hannes Pallhuber and Roland Stauder agreed to this challenge.

And their reactions were only positive! Mark Felderer was the occasional spokesman: "This new section will make a big difference during the race. Earlier editions there was the climb of the Rotwand which wasn't as long as this one. This zone will clearly show who will be in for the victory and who ain't..."
