No efforts were spared for the organization of the Benelux championships mountainbike 2009.
For the first time the organization of the event was the responsability of Golazo Sports, which is respected by the cyclocross scene.
With this mountainbike event in Averbode, Golazo Sports hopes to transfer the many years of experience in cyclocross to the Belgian mountainbike sport.
Despite this being the first MTB organization by Golazo, some big names find their way to Belgium...
Olympic champion Julien Absalon, world champion marathon Roel Paulissen and local favourite Sven Nys will be starting on the track in Averbode. |
The course, which lost a hill last minute, is very much appreciated by the mountainbikers already present.
"The track in Averbode is even more tough than the Benelux Cup races in Oldenzaal and Apeldoorn.", says Jimmy Tielens (Team Saeco). |
