Manuel Prado is the new national champion mountainbike cross country in Costa Rica and succeeds Federico Ramirez who finish third during this year's championship. Second position was claimed by Jonnathan Carballo crossing the finishline 1'30" later than Prado.
Most significant absent during this race was the only international Costa Rican mountainbiker, Paolo Montoya. He had other obligations with his team Giant Italia: the World Cup race in Madrid.
Montoya finished 64th in Madrid and missed the national championship last year as well due to European commitments.
