Swiss champion Florian Vogel (Scott-Swisspower) has defeated world champion Christoph Sauser (Specialized) in the Swiss Cup competition, the Racer Bikes Cup.

Sauser had more than one minute delay on Vogel at the finishline, Lukas Flückiger (23 Degrees-Trek) completed the podium in Engelen.

Despite an early attack of Silvio Bundi (Giant Swiss) it were Florian Vogel, Lukas Flückiger and Martin Gujan (Cannondale) who were determining the pace quickly.

The homecrowd goes wild when the home-racing Martin Fanger (Giant Swiss) is able to move up in this leading group, but further on in the race he had to let the other go. However, Fanger will take the victory in the U23-category...

In the seventh out of ten laps Florian Vogel attacks and wouldn't let go of the leader's position any more. In the meanwhile, Christoph Sauser is fighting his way back during the whole race after a bad start.

In the nineth lap, the world champ is hitting the pedal to the metal during his first race in Switzerland this year. He overtakes Lukas Flückiger and can even take some distance from the 23 Degrees-Trek racer...
