Nicolas Vermeulen (Lingier-Versluys) has wun the marathon race in Cimes de Waimes (Belgium) after 76 km.
During the sunning racing day, Klaas Vantornout (Sunweb Projob) was leading with ten seconds ahead of a group of five chasers at the first feeding zone.
In that group, the more important racers as Belgian champion marathon Nicolas Vermeulen, but also Gerben de Knegt (Rabobank) and Joris Massaer (MTB Dreamteam).

At the second feeding zone, Vermeulen has taken over the lead while Massaer was following at a couple of seconds. Various racers were having some difficult time with the long distance and also Gerben de Knegt who already was having a painful back at the start of the race..
In the third feeding zone, Vermeulen has extended his leading position and was able to maintain his lead until the finishline where he had a three minutes lead on his closest competitor.
