Frans marathon champion Thomas Dietsch (Team Bulls) has wun the 2009 Trans Germany after taking the yellow jersey in the third out of seven stages.

It's for the first time in Trans Germany's history that the overall winner goes to a racer who hasn't wun a single stage in this marathon competition.

Also in this seventh and final stage, the day victory went to Jochen Käß (Multivan-Merida) while Hannes Genze (Multivan-Merida) and Thomas Dietsch completed the final podiumof the day.

In the final stage of the Trans Germany, Thomas Dietsch had a hard time. Jochen Käß as well as Hannes Genze were attacking constantly in an ultimate effort to claim the yellow jersey in the Multivan-Merida team.

But the French giant and his team-mates were able to counter all the attacks... However Multivan-Merida takes six out of seven day victories and Jochen as well as Hannes have worn the yellow jersey this edition, the final overall victory isn't theirs...

"I'm so happy and I have to thank the whole team a lot... This last stage was very stressful for m since I didn't know when the next attack was going to be. But in the end, I'm still wearing the yellow!", says a relieved Thomas Dietsch.

In the women's competition, Esther Süss (Wheeler-iXS) has wun all stages and so claims the overall title as well. Closest competitor in the overall ranking is British Topeak-Ergon racer Sally Bigham at almost 40 minutes...
