An impressing Jochen Käß (Multivan-Merida) takes the win in the fourth stage of the 2009 Trans Germany and is only 23 seconds behind in the overall rankings on the leading Thomas Dietsch (Team Bulls).
Yellow jersey Thomas Dietsch finished on sixth position with 5'32" delay on the winning Käß. Podium of the day was completed by other German racers: Christian Schneidawind (Texpa-Simplon) and Karl Platt (Team Bulls).
Käß escaped after 30 km racing in the longest stage of this competition and was riding alone during the last 120 km. While Käß is now competing for the overall victory, Alban Lakata (Topeak-Ergon) has to give up all hope for the overall title.
|
| The Austrian racer suffered technical problems twice and finished in 15th position during this fourth stage. The time difference between the yellow jersey and Lakata is already 17 minutes.
In the women's category, the winning spree of Swiss racer Esther Süss (Wheeler-iXS) continues. Süss already has a 20'44" lead on British Topeak-Ergon racer Sally Bigham.
