Austrian mountainbiker Alban Lakata (Topeak-Ergon) has wun the opening stage of the Trans Germany.
The Topeak-Ergon racer was able to defeat the Swiss racer Andreas Kugler (Multivan-Merida) during this first race of the stage competition in the final sprint.
French marathon champion Thomas Dietsch (Team Bulls) finished in third position at only two seconds behind the leading duo.

Speed was of the essence in this first race while Lakata completed 102 km and 2.257 metres altitude gain in 2:20:31... About 10 minutes faster than last year's winning time of the same stage last year!
When Alban Lakata is putting on the yellow leading jersey of the TransGermany in the men's category, the Swiss Esther Süss (Wheeler-iXS) claims the red leading jersey in the women's category...
Süss defeated Norwegian racer Nina Gässler (Kona) with a time difference more than six minutes and can prepare for the next race in peace. The German mountainbiker Elisabeth Brandau (Haibike) completed the podium with her third position..
