Austrian mountainbike racer Elisabeth Osl (Central-Ghost) has claimed her second World Cup win of the season in the Swiss town of Champéry. She finished every lap in top-3 positions and is a worthy winner of this World Cup race.

The start loop was lead by Italian racer Eva Lechner (Colnago) and also finished the first lap in first position. In the second out of five laps, Elisabeth Osl goes full throttle for a first time.

This action causes some small time difference with the other racers, at the end of the third lap Osl has 11 seconds ahead at Eva Lechner while Polish racer Anna Szafraniec (JBG-2) follows at 55 seconds.

In the meanwhile the leader of the World Cup ranking, Norwegian racer Lene Byberg (Specialized) is fighting her way back to the front after a slow first lap. At the end of the third lap, Byberg is already back in fifth position while she crossed the line after the first lap in 10th position.

Byberg keeps pushing the pedal to the metal in the fourth and penultimate lap and is determined to defend her white World Cup leader's jersey. However, she's still 1'49" behind Osl. Although a fast final lap, Byberg doesn't succeed to gain any more positions and has to be satisfied with her third place.

Before the final World Cup race and the season's finale in the Austrian city of Schladming, Elisabeth Osl wears the World Cup leading jersey again while she has the opportunity to win the overall in front of the homecrowd. But with 65 points difference between Osl and Byberg everything is still possible while third in the overall Catharine Pendrel (Orbea) can mathematically still win the overall as well...
